Founders and Builders of the Medical Centre
With divine grace and guidance, the Health Centre was founded by Emeritus Professor Gyaneshwar and his wife, Dr Swarna Naidu (retired since 2020). Both have had a long-term involvement with health care in Fiji, Australia and New Zealand, they built the health centre because of their commitment to improving the health of poor people who otherwise do not have easy access to good care.
They were both experienced senior clinicians who had leading roles in both management and provision of clinical services in major health/teaching institutions in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. They enjoy high credibility in Fiji, especially within the Health Service but also the community in general. They have a network of skilled colleagues abroad, many of whom are former Fiji citizens keen to help.
