Outreach Sessions

So far the team has conducted 5 outreaches, where they have provided sessions on Health Promotion and Education, Non Communicable Diseases, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Social Issues. These are conducted either in large groups, focus group discussions or with one on one counselling and education.
After these sessions screening for NCDs and Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) issues is conducted. Height, weight, blood pressure and glucose levels are measured and breast examinations and pap smears are conducted. One to one counselling is also conducted for social issues.
Safe sex and family planning counselling with provision of contraceptives are also part of the services offered.

Revitalising of Community Health Committees.

Traditionally each of the communities are supposed to have a health committee but in practice some have them and some don’t. In those communities that do have them, the committees are not very active.
Each community is being encouraged and assisted to form a committee and actively promote the health and wellbeing of their people under this project. Our team members act as catalysts and resource people for them. The trained CHW's will be important members of the health committees.
